The Grund is a Charming Part of Luxembourg

The Grund is a charming part of Luxembourg City. According to census, there are less than 800 people living here and only 33% are Luxembourgers. The only thing I know before I came here was that Luxembourg is a haven for the ultra rich. So, maybe, some of them live here? 😀

Where to See the Best View. The Grund skyline can be best viewed from Chemlin de la Corniche Promenade, aka, the Most Beautiful Balcony in Europe. I never had the chance to go down here because I couldn’t find the lift that goes down to the valley. So, I decided to explore other parts of the city.

What to do and see at the Grund. From my research, I found that Amazon Europe has a small office down there. A tourist I met also told me that this barrio has a Michelin star restaurant. And if you have Instagram, you’ll find out that the place is very photogenic, too. And oh, when I asked the hotel receptionist where to go for a drink at night, she said, “You should go to the Grund.” So, I guess this means that nightlife down there is well and alive!

Where to Stay in Luxembourg

If you arrive in the morning in Luxembourg, I think it’s enough to spend in the city for a day. There’s really not much to do there – at least for me. I still stayed for a night because after 5 days in Paris, I was just tired and I needed a good rest. I billeted myself at Hotel Empire, a budget hotel across Luxembourg Central Train Station. I like that it’s I’m just few steps away to the train as I had an early trip to Brussels the next morning. The hotel is very clean though rooms are small. Cafes and groceries shops are just walking distance from here. You can book via HostelWorld and Booking.com.
